ABOUT SUKHA COUNSEL

A Practice Built Around
Patience and Clarity

We started Sukha Counsel because pension matters deserved a quieter kind of legal support — one that listens before it advises.

OUR STORY

How Sukha Counsel Came to Be

Sukha Counsel was founded in Chiang Mai by a small group of legal professionals who had spent years watching retirees struggle alone with pension paperwork that was never designed to be easy. The documents were dense, the offices could be hard to reach, and the stakes — a person's financial security in retirement — were quietly significant.

The name "Sukha" reflects the intention behind the practice: in Pali and Thai, it carries a sense of ease and wellbeing. That is what we try to bring to each engagement — not urgency, not pressure, but steadiness and a genuine effort to help.

Since opening our doors on Wualai Road, we have helped clients understand pension letters that sat unopened for months, reunite with records lost across different fund administrators, and — where necessary — work through a formal review process with the support of someone who knows the steps.

OUR MISSION

What We Are Here to Do

Our purpose is straightforward: to make pension matters manageable for people who deserve clear answers. We do not specialise in speed or volume. We take on a careful number of cases so that each person receives proper attention.

We believe that legal support for retirees should feel calm and accessible — not intimidating. That means plain-language explanations, regular updates, and an honest account of what is possible in each situation. We do not make claims we cannot stand behind.

"Pension matters can feel large and uncertain. Our role is to make them smaller and clearer, one step at a time."

— Sukha Counsel founding principle

HOW WE WORK

Our Standards and Practices

Client Confidentiality

All client information is held in strict confidence. We do not disclose any details without explicit permission, and maintain secure document handling throughout.

Careful Document Review

Every document is reviewed methodically before any assessment is shared. We take the time to read thoroughly rather than offer quick answers that may not hold.

Clear Communication

We write our summaries and updates in everyday language. If something is uncertain, we say so — we do not fill gaps with confident-sounding guesses.

Legal Compliance

Our work is conducted in accordance with Thai legal and regulatory standards. We stay current with relevant policy changes affecting pension entitlements.

Data Protection

Client data is stored securely and handled in line with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. We retain only what is needed for the work at hand.

Honest Scope Assessment

Before we begin any matter, we discuss what is realistically achievable. We would rather set an honest expectation than a hopeful one that disappoints.

Pension Legal Support in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai draws many retirees — both Thai nationals returning after working careers elsewhere, and foreign residents who have contributed to pension systems in Thailand or abroad. As that community grows, so does the need for accessible, patient legal support that takes pension entitlements seriously.

Sukha Counsel fills that space on Wualai Road in the Haiya district. We work with clients facing a range of pension situations: those who have received letters they do not fully understand, those who believe records have been handled incorrectly, and those preparing to question a decision through a formal process.

Our team brings specific knowledge of Thai social security provisions, Government Pension Fund procedures, and the practical steps involved when records need to be corrected or decisions reviewed. We keep our caseload manageable so that each matter receives genuine attention.

If you are not sure whether your situation calls for legal support, a short first conversation usually provides clarity. We ask you to bring whatever documentation you have, and we will take it from there — without pressure and without jargon.
